3 Things Not To Do When Oiling Your Hair

Below are the tips on how to apply oil in hair effectively to make your hair luscious and beautiful. Have a look at the things you should never do when oiling your hair!

1. Not Combing Before a Massage

Massaging tangled or knotted hair is a big no. This will only cause further knotting and damage to the hair and its roots. Rule number 1 is to always comb out your hair, make it tangle-free, and then start massaging it gently.

2. Not Heating The Oil Before Applying It

Warm oil penetrates the hair and scalp more easily and is more soothing too. You can either stick a bowl of oil in the microwave for up to 10 seconds, or you can place it in a bigger bowl with hot water in it to warm it up. The latter would be better though, as that will ensure the oil isn’t too hot for application, and the nutrients in the oil aren’t damaged due to excessive heating.

3. Massaging Too Hard

It may be tempting to go all out with your oil and have your head massaged hard. This will do you more harm than good. Massaging too rigorously can create knots in the hair, damage the hair roots and cause it to break. A soft massage in a circular motion is what i recommend for amazing results.
