To create this simple hairstyle, you take soft, beautiful curls and jazz them up by adding a simple twist. This look is great if you’re on the go because the twist allows you to keep your hair out of your face while still looking styled. It’s also a great option if you have have extremely thick hair with a wavy to frizzy texture. When you curl your hair with the iron, it will help tame any frizziness while adding lots of definition to your waves. If your hair is curl resistant, use a flexible-hold hairspray. If you have fine hair, apply some hair mousse and blow dry the opposite way to how your hair lies to achieve some fullness.
Start by sectioning off the hair from ear to ear around the back of your head, leaving a small section hanging down. Take 2-3-in (5-7.5-cm) sections of hair. Clamp down at the mid shaft of the hair and slowly ease the hair through the curling iron. When working with the sections around the face, curl away from the face.
Repeat this curling technique around the whole head. Lightly brush out with your fingers to add separation to the curls.
Part your hair on the side and separate out a triangle section about 3 in (7.5 cm) wide. If your hair is very thick, take a 2-in (5-cm) section.
Twist the hair going away from the face and wrap the section back. Take a bobby pin and pin it upward. If your hair is thick, try using two bobby pins and criss-cross them.
Take the section of hair above the bobby pins and lay it over the top. Use hairspray to finish.
