Serve these solo, or mix 2 tablespoons of fruit purées with 1/4 cup plain yogurt for a creamy treat that’s just kissed with sweetness. Start now getting your little one use to yogurt that isn’t overly sugary.
Strawberry Purée: Makes about 3/4 cup
Blend 8 oz. strawberries (about 1 1/2 cups) in a blender
Peach Purée: Makes about 1 1/2 cup
Thaw a 1-pound bag of frozen peaches. Blend in a food processor or blender with a little water if needed
Blueberry Purée: Makes about 1 cup
Purée 1 pint blueberries in a blender. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve.
Mango Purée: Makes about 1/3 cup
Blend 3/4 cup mango chunks (about 1 mango peeled and diced) in a blender
Pineapple Purée: Makes about 1 1/2 cups
Blend 2 cups pineapple chunks in a blender
Prune Purée: Makes 1/2 cup
Soak 1/2 cup pitted prunes in 1/2 cup hot water for 20 minutes. Blend the prunes and the soaking water in a blender.
