5 Easy Steps: Dutch Braid with Ropebraid Updo

Step #1:

Take a section from the low crown to the tip of your ear on each side to create triangle sections and clip them back. Make a low pony at the nape of the neck. Divide it into two sections and create a ropebraid by taking the section to the right, twisting it to the right, and taking it over to the left side. Repeat until you reach about 1 in (2.5 cm) from the ends. Secure with a hair elastic.

Step #2:

Twist the ropebraid up around the hair elastic. Bobby pin in place.

Step #3:

Drop out the top sections and part on one side. Split the hair in half and make a Dutch braid.

Step #4:

When you reach halfway across your head, do a three-strand braid to the end. Repeat on the other side. Secure the ends with a hair elastic.

Step #5:

Wrap the braided sections across one another and pin into place.
