Because standing postures require no equipment and very little space, they can be practiced anytime, anywhere. They can be suggested to your child during a lengthy wait, possibly inviting other children and making it a group game.
A child’s balance is imperfect; like the adult’s, it oscillates. This pose enhances stability and corrects deviations of the vertebrae.
- Stand up straight, feet 4″ apart.
- Keep the arms along the body, palms facing downward.

- Slowly raise the arms a few inches.
- Your fingers initiating the movement, bring your hands to a right angle with your arms.
- Inhale and exhale deeply three times.
