Beginners Yoga for Children: Standing Pose – Star

Because standing postures require no equipment and very little space, they can be practiced anytime, anywhere. They can be suggested to your child during a lengthy wait, possibly inviting other children and making it a group game.

This standing pose, which helps keep the spine straight, develops your child’s balance and concentration. It works the legs and improves blood circulation.

  1. Stand, keeping your spine straight.
  2. Inhale while bringing your legs apart and extending your arms horizontally, palms toward the floor.
  3. Stay in the star position while exhaling and inhaling a few times.
  4. On an exhale, come back to your initial position.
