Beginners Yoga for Children: Sitting Pose – Boat

Practice with your child. Just like the standing postures, the sitting postures usually become more appealing when practiced as a game. For example, while in upward plank you can let a ball roll down the child’s back.

This pose reinforces back, abdominal, and hip flexors. It also improves your child’s balance and concentration.

  • Sit with your legs extended in front of you, feet together.
  • Bend your knees. bringing them to your torso.

  • Extend your arms forward by your knees.
  • Slightly tilt your torso backwards.

  • Extend your legs. toes pointing upward.
  • Stay in this V-shape for a few seconds. breathing normally.

  • Bend your knees, feet on the floor.
  • Come back to the initial position, legs extended in front of you.

  • Repeat three times. You can help your child hold the pose.
